I managed my best time of 08:49.1 during the 2k race at the NIA in Birmingham today. I was up against the Gold medalist Mim Torkington who pulled in her 2k in 07:38.6. I was awarded a Silver Medal for my 2nd place position (I like to think so, its not just because there was only 2 of us in the race) and got the chance to collect my medal on the podium at the front of the arena (I am on the left with Mim on the right).
It was a great day and I have plans to enter the EIRC (English Indoor Rowing Championships) in February 2010.
