Clip-in, clip-out

My C2 metres have not been as high as usual over the past week because I have been doing some of my warm up routine on the bike rather than the rowing machine.
The local park has been my training ground, where I biked 20 circuits of the green each day. I reached a land-mark point in my rehabilitation into biking this weekend because it was the first time I used clip-in pedals. In order to get used to the new pedals I stopped after each circuit of the green to clip-in and out. Stopping is the biggest problem because you have to anticipate the stop before you get there and twist the right foot out of the pedal BEFORE braking. Easier said than done - I only fell off the bike with my legs still attached once (when I forgot to release my foot when I stopped).
My mission is to be confident cycling with clip-in pedals so I can bike in the Yorkshire Dales or even France before the end of the summer.
